It’s that time of season. My college friends are swimming in their conference championships and gearing up towards NCAA’s. My European friends are taking part in various competitions throughout Europe and posting some impressive times. As for myself and my American friends and teammates; We’re getting beat up in practice and grinding it out every single day. Fortunately for me there are only 14 days before Swiss Olympic Trials. I can’t wait to race. It’s hard sitting at home watching my friends swim fast while I have to train.
There are 147 days until the Olympic Games :)
2012 is here!!! What an exciting year we have ahead of ourselves. I’m looking forward to great new experiences and making new unforgettable memories! Although belated, I want to wish all of my followers and supporters a very healthy and memorable 2012.
The New Year got off with bang. I spent the first week of 2012 in Laguna Beach at a training camp with my club, Trojan Swim Club. I’m thankful that I got back in the water the week before, because workouts were grueling in Laguna. I got really good work in and trained with the best in the world. I can honestly say that I’ve never been in this shape this early in the season.
The first quarter of 2012 is going to be dedicated to training. It’s important to get my level of fitness to the highest possible level during this period as the 2nd quarter of the year will be geared towards fine-tuning for the big show. I will not be competing in any competitions until March, when I will take part at Swiss Olympic Trials. My coach, Dave Salo, encourages us to compete against each other on a daily basis in practice. This gives workouts a really competitive and professional environment. That said, although I may not compete in competitions, I am competing daily with the best in the world.
Thanks again for your support!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!
Thank you for your continued support throughout 2011. Let's make 2012 memorable. Wishing you all the best this holiday season with many laughs surrounded by family and friends.
